Oceanside Conference - September 20, 2025

60 friends gathered in Carlsbad on September 20 to discuss the spiritual destiny of America and their contribution.

Unity of vision was the central theme at a gathering of more than 60 residents of the Oceanside cluster in Southern California, as they gathered for a conference on September 20 in Carlsbad.

The friends gathered to discuss the spiritual destiny of America, primarily through a study of a letter from the National Spiritual Assembly of the Baha’is of California.

“This is a time of great historical consequence for all humanity,” that letter opens. “The forces set in motion by the advent of Bahá’u’lláh, the Promised One of All Ages, acting both within and outside the community of His avowed followers, are swiftly gaining momentum. Surely it is not difficult for any of us to discern that a storm is gathering on the horizon, signaling an impending climax that must, sooner or later, revolutionize world affairs.”

Small groups were one of the main ways participants organized to study and discuss the materials.

The conference was described by participants as galvanizing and engaging. In addition to portions for study discussion there were periods for participants to create visual arts and poetry and there was a children’s program.

Approximately 15 of the participants at the conference were facilitators, a significant portion of which were young people. Organizers said substantial support was offered by the neighboring “cluster,” or grouping of communities, of San Diego.
